Faculty of Bioengineering and Technology Postgraduate Colloquium 2021

On 24th February 2021, the Postgraduate Colloquium of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Technology (FBKT) was held online for the first time. This colloquium is held as a platform for postgraduate students to discuss their research ideas and findings in overcoming the challenges of research continuity, especially in the face of the COVID19 pandemic crisis. In addition, this colloquium is used as a platform for postgraduate students to exchange ideas, to attain ideas and wisdom from lecturers, to improve the quality of the research and produce a solid and practical study. This colloquium is an annual program of FBKT, and this time it is organized by the Department of Bio and Natural Resources Technology (JTBSA). The committee members involved are the lecturers from the JTBSA department led by Dr. Noor Fazliani Shoparwe. This program has combined the presentation of research proposal and progress reports involving all FBKT postgraduate students, a total of 35 students. The program started at 8.00 am chaired by Miss Nor Zafirah, and the prayer was recited by Mr. Qushairi. Next, the program began with a speech by the dean of FBKT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azlina Ibrahim. From her speech, the students are advised to continue striving in order to graduate on time despite facing various challenges, then followed by a briefing by the Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation and Postgraduate), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Azwadi Sulaiman. He gave a detailed briefing on postgraduate affairs at FBKT in particular and UMK in general. The students and lecturers are further divided according to their respective sessions, where there are five sessions running simultaneously. Students are limited to 10 minutes to present their respective research and 10 minutes for question-and-answer sessions with lecturers. At the end of the program, all students and lecturers were getting back together for the closing and the best presenter award session. The best presenters were awarded to Miss Norfatihah, Miss Nurul Hazirah, Miss Syifa’, Miss Farah Amanina and Miss Nurul Ain Nabilah. The program ends at 1.15 pm. Congratulations and thank you to all FBKT students and lecturers who involved in this program.
